Brief Description

The PMR-IS is a newly developed patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) that has been designed to assess the impact of polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) on patients' lives. The PROM was developed using a long-list of candidate items derived from a previous qualitative study and validated by a group of PMR patients. The PMR-IS has good construct validity and test-retest reliability, and it comprises items related to main symptoms/duration, function, emotional and psychological well-being, steroid side effects, and overall well-being. The PMR-IS was validated using the QQ-10 instrument, which has been shown to have high internal consistency and item correlation and to be acceptable and understandable to patients
