Patient-reported measure used to assess the impact of the disease on work and other daily activities during the past 7 days. It includes six questions to determine employment status (Q1), hours missed from work due to AS (Q2), hours missed from work for other reasons (Q3), hours actually worked (Q4), the degree to which AS affected work productivity while at work (Q5) and the degree to which AS affected activities outside of work (Q6). |
| Number of Items | 6 |
| Range | 0-100% for each of the four scores that can be derived. |
| Responses options/scale |
Yes Q1 is a yes/no screening question (employment status). Q2 to Q4 are expressed in number of hours. Q5 and Q6 are expressed in a 0-10 numeric rating scale. Questions related to absenteeism and presenteeism are applicable to employed patients only. |
| Developed for | Clinical practice, Research |
| PRACTICAL APPLICATION | |
| Method of administration | Self-administered |
| Recommendations to score |
Four scores can be derived, with all scores multiplied by 100 to express as percentages.
Q2/(Q2+Q4)+[(1–Q2/(Q2+Q4))×(Q5/10)]
|
| Score Interpretation | Greater scores indicate greater impairment. |
