1. RELIABILITY
A. Internal Consistency Not Tested
Cronbach's (Describe)
B. Reliability intraobserver or test-retest Tested
Continuous scores: intraclass
correlation coefficient (ICC)
Dichotomus: Cohen kappa (Describe)

Three randomly selected cases from the simulation exercises were rescored by 12 investigators, with a period of more than 6 months between the 2 evaluations. The ICC was 0.62.

C. Reliability interobserver or Measurement error Tested
Standard error of measurement (SEM),
smallest detectable change (SDC) or
Limits of agreement (LoA) (Describe)

ICC was 0.93.

2. VALIDITY
A. Content validity: face validity Tested
Expert opinion (relevance and
comprehensiveness) (Describe)

The original BVAS was revised by 16 members of the International Network for the Study of the Systemic Vasculitides (INSSYS), with the goals of reducing the redundancy of some component items and enhancing its ability to capture important disease manifestations specific to WG, in order to streamline the instrument for use in clinical research.

B. Construct Validity:
Structural validity
Tested
Hypotheses-testing Tested
Cross-cultural validity Not Tested
Brief Description

The discriminant validity of the BVAS/WG was good: r = 0.73 (95% confidence interval 0.43–0.83).

C. Criterion validity Not Tested
