| DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTRUMENT | |
| Type Of Measure | Questionnaire |
| Brief Description |
Patient-completed questionnaire to assess functional disability (CASQ-FI) and health related quality of life (CASQ-QoL). |
| Number of Items | 10 items for each questionnaire (CASQ-FI and CASQ-QoL) |
| Range | 0-3 (for each questionnaire) |
| Responses options/scale |
Yes 0:no difficulty- 3:unable to do. |
| Developed for | Both |
| PRACTICAL APPLICATION | |
| Method of administration | Self-administered |
| Recommendations to score |
The score of each questionnaire is the sum of individual item score divided by 10 or the mean of the item score if only 8 or 9 items are completed. Neither CASQ-FI nor CASQQoL were scored if fewer than 8 items were completed. For CASQ-QoL there is also the option “Not applicable”. In this case, the “not applicable” questions are excluded from the scoring and the total score is divided by only the number of questions that have been answered by patient. |
| Score Interpretation | Higher scores reflect poorer physical function (CASQ-FI) or worse health related quality of life (CASQ-QoL). |
| Cut-off points | --- |
| Cut-off points applied to | --- |
| Smallest detectable change if described | --- |
| Smallest detectable change applied to | --- |
| Completion time by the patient | 2 minutes |
| Scoring time by the assessor | <1 minutes |
| Training to score | Not necessary |
| Strengths | Useful in clinical practice & research |
| Limitations | --- |
