| Brief Description |
The BASMI is the most commonly used metrology index reported in clinical research studies. The purpose of this instrument is to provide an objective assessment of spinal mobility. It was developed by a group of rheumatologists, physiotherapists, and research associates who have a special interest in AS, and it was based on a literature review and clinical experience. The BASMI is a composite score of cervical rotation, tragus-wall distance, lumbar flexion, lumbar side/lateral flexion, and intermalleolar distance. |
