DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTRUMENT
Type Of Measure Questionnaire
Brief Description

PROFAD-SSI-SF aims to assess the main symptoms of patients with pSS.

It combines the PROFAD questionnaire (specifically developed from interviews with patients with pSS to capture key symptoms in patients with pSS) and the SSI (developed as a measure of dryness symptoms)

Number of Items 19 items, 8 domains
Range 0-7
Responses options/scale No
Developed for Research, Clinical practice
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Method of administration Self-administered
Recommendations to score

The PROFAD-SSI-contains 19 items in 8 domains: somatic fatigue (4 items), mental fatigue (2 items), arthralgia/limb pain (2 items), vascular dysfunction (Raynaud’s syndrome) (1 item), skin dryness (1 item), vaginal dryness (women only) (1 item), ocular dryness (3 items), and oral dryness (5 items). The PROFAD-SSI uses a Likert scale ranging from 0 to 7 for each facet item. Average facet scores are used to generate domain scores.

Score Interpretation Higher scores indicate higher symptoms
Cut-off points In initial articles, healthy control mean domain scores < 2, patient group mean scores> 2
