In a validity study with 45 patients with SSc and 15 healthy individuals, the HAMIS was found to be a valid test with a good ability to discriminate patients with SSc from healthy individuals. All items except for pronation and supination significantly correlated in the expected direction with the patient’s range of motion and skin thickness. Finger extension predicted 100% of the healthy individuals and 73% of the patients with SSc in the correct groups. |
