| DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTRUMENT | |
| Type Of Measure | Questionnaire |
| Brief Description |
The HOWL-Q was designed to assess RA-related limitations to perform (paid or unpaid) household work. The 41 items retained in the develoment were distributed in 5 dimensions, which were named as follows: housekeeping, interaction with objects and persons, care for others, personal motion and transportation, and activities requiring manual dexterity. |
| Number of Items | 41 |
| Range | Global HOWL-Q score ranges from 0 to 10. |
| Responses options/scale |
No |
| Developed for | --- |
| PRACTICAL APPLICATION | |
| Method of administration | Self-administered |
| Recommendations to score |
HOWL-Q scoring system is based on 3 steps: At first, to calculate the score of each dimension, assigning the dimension the highest individual item score; at second, sum the dimension scores and divide the sum by the number of dimensions answered; finally, transform the final score on a 10-point scale. |
| Score Interpretation | Increasing scores translate into increase household work limitations. |

| Completion time by the patient | 30 minutes |
| Scoring time by the assessor | - minutes |
| Training to score | Not necessary |
