| Brief Description |
RAPID3 is a brief self‐administered questionnaires of disease symptoms for patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It is a pooled index of the 3 patient-reported American College of Rheumatology RA Core Data Set measures: function, pain, and patient global estimate of status. Although the target population for RAPID3 is patients with RA, it has been used in systemic lupus erythematosus, spondylarthropathies, vasculitis, and other conective tissue diseases. |

RAPID3 includes the MDHAQ, a pain VAS, and the PtGA. Each of the 3 individual measures is scored 0 to 10, for a total of 30. The MDHAQ ranges from 0–3, so then is multiplied by 3.33. Pain, and PtGA are scored from 0–10, each on a separate 10‐cm horizontal VAS, which may be substituted for a 21‐circle VAS. |

There are other RAPID scores that have been validated to a less stent, but the RAPID3 score is the most frequently used and best‐validated measure among the various RAPID scores. RAPID4 patient joint count (RAPID4PTJC) adds a self‐reported joint count to RAPID3. RAPID4 provider joint count (RAPID4MDJC) and RAPID5 combine self‐administered questionnaires of disease symptoms with a provider‐derived joint count or provider global assessment of disease activity (PrGA), respectively. Recommended cutoffs for disease activity for RAPID4PTJC, RAPID4MDJC, and RAPID5 scores are similar to RAPID3. However, addition of TJC or SJCs and/or physician estimate of global status does not add to the capacity of RAPID3 to distinguish active from control treatments. RAPID3 is recommended for the measurement of ‘PsA Symptoms’ in psoriasis clinical trials. κ agreement between RAPID3 remission and other SpA remission criteria was moderate (κ 0.46-0.56). The RAPID3 thresholds to define remission ranged from values ≤ 2 to ≤ 6 with areas under the ROC curve between 0.86-0.91. Female sex (OR 0.34, 95% CI 0.12-0.90, P = 0.03) and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug intake (OR 0.26, 95% CI 0.10-0.66, P = 0.005) were independently associated with lower odds of achieving RAPID3 remission. |
