The LLFI is a single page questionnaire containing 25 items of the PRO measure relevant to the status of the patients in last 2–3 days.

Recommendations to score

It has the response options of ‘‘Yes’’/‘‘Partly’’/‘‘No’’ and scored by assigning 1 point for ‘‘Yes’’, 0.5 point for ‘‘Partly’’ and 0 point for ‘‘No’’ for each individual response. The allocated points are added and multiplied by four for a total score of functional limitation. This value is then subtracted from 100 to provide a score on a percentage scale of pre-injury or normal functional status.

There are also the short forms 10 item versions published for the Lower Limb but only for wounds.  Their information is identical to the  longer form except the MDC or error is slightly larger.

A integrated software CDSS using LLFI has been developed and validated.  The final tool showed ICC of 0.96 and MDC90~ 5%. The Flesch Kincaid readability is Gr 7 and Efficacy ~ 65%.
