| DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTRUMENT | |
| Type Of Measure | Questionnaire |
| Brief Description |
The ENAT is a self-completed questionnaire, which allows patients with arthritis to prioritise their educational needs. It is composed of 39 items grouped into seven domains: managing pain (six items), movement (five items), feelings (four items), disease process (seven items), treatments (seven items), self-help measures (six items) and support systems (four items). |
| Number of Items | 39 |
| Range | 0-156 |
| Responses options/scale |
Yes Items are completed by the use of Likert scales ranging from 1—‘not important at all’ to 5—‘extremely important’. |
| Developed for | Clinical practice, Research |
| PRACTICAL APPLICATION | |
| Method of administration | Self-administered |
| Recommendations to score |
A total ENAT score (0–156) is calculated by summing all 39 items. |
| Score Interpretation | Higher scoring equals higher educational needs |
