DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTRUMENT
Type Of Measure Questionnaire
Brief Description

The MDF-fibro-17 is a comprehensive, multidimensional, PRO measure to assess FM-related fatigue in FM clinical trials; it consists of a 17-item multidimensional measure, capturing five domains: Global Fatigue Experience (four items); Cognitive Fatigue (four items); Physical Fatigue (three items); Motivation (three items); and Impact on Function (three items).

Number of Items 17
Range 0-10
Responses options/scale No
Developed for Clinical practice, Research
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Method of administration Self-administered
Recommendations to score

Each item is presented as a 0–10 NRS anchored by “not at all” at 0 and “extremely” at 10; a total score is calculated as the average of the domain scores (also ranging from 0 to 10)

Score Interpretation Higher scores indicated greater fatigue severity.

Training to score Not necessary
Strengths Easy to use, Useful in clinical practice & research
Limitations Not widely used
