DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTRUMENT
Type Of Measure Composite Index, Questionnaire
Brief Description

The CPCI is a 64-item measure that was designed to assess eight theoretically-derived pain coping subscales. There is a 42-item scale which is a modified version of an earlier 65- item scale.

The CPCI scales are divided into two general categories: (1) scales that measure Illness-Focused coping – responses thought to be maladaptive, and (2) scales that measure Wellness-Focused coping – responses thought to be adaptive.
