The aim of the study was to address the structure and potential utility of the factors underlying the CPAQ. Factor structure was evaluated using both exploratory and confirmatory factor analytic techniques. In addition, a series of cluster analyses were performed to explore whether specific subgroups of patients could be identified based on their responses to the subscales of this inventory. Finally, the validity of the identified clusters was explored by assessing whether they differed meaningfully on measures of physical and psychological functioning.
The purpose of this study was to prospectively investigate acceptance and values-related processes in relation to chronic pain.
A systematic review of the literature of the psychometric properties of questionnaires including Chronic Pain Acceptance Questionnaire (CPAQ), Illness Cognitions Questionnaire (ICQ), Pain Solutions Questionnaire (PASOL) and Acceptance of Illness Scale (AIS) adapted to pain. Content construct, criterion validity, internal consistency, agreement, reliability, responsiveness, floor/ceiling effects and interpretability, were assessed using a standardized protocol (Terwee et al 2007).
