Brief Description

Long version: Two separate factor analyses (varimax rotation) were computed: one for the categorical response items resulting in 6 factors (Working through pain, Social reactivity, Limited workplace support, Deadlines/Pressure, Self-imposed workplace/workload, Breaks ) accounting for 47.8% of the total variance and one for the dichotomous items resulting in 4 factors (Mood, Pain/Tension, Autonomic Response, Numbness/Tingling) accounting for 30.7% of the total variance

Short version: A factor analysis was conducted to develop a brief 10-item scale for potential use in the clinical setting and the 3 pain related questions were removed; this 7-item scale highly correlated with the 79-item scale (r=0.923, P<0 .001) and the 32-item scale (r = 0.932, P <0 .001) (Harrington et el, J Occup Environ Med, 2010)
